San Francisco – Cable cars and Rice a Roni

San Francisco located in Northern California is a majestic city which is 28 meters above sea-level.  The unique motto of “oro en Paz, Fierro en Guerra” (Gold in Peace, Iron in War) surrounds the seal of the city. A city  which has been twice ravaged by earthquakes and six times by fires.

Lombard Street pictured above is a world renowned east-west street famous for having eight hairpin turns.  I’ve walked and driven down Lombard Street and as recently as early February 2017 San Francisco was considering pulling a toll on the street so that if you want to drive it you will pay.

ccarSan Francisco is known for it’s notoriously steep streets as well as the cable cars that transport locals and tourists about town.fishermans-wharf

Another interesting part of San Francisco is the bay area and one of it’s most famous sights is Fisherman’s Wharf with it’s carnival like atmosphere and street performers it’s a fun way to spend the day and pick up the flavor of the city. As well as hang with some of the locals seen lounging on the dock in the picture here.fishermans-wharf-pier-39

There is so much to do and see here in this beautiful city that on our vacation we extended our time here by two days.  The people are friendly and the restaurants are great and it’s always a party no matter if you’re into nature or city, there’s always a great way to spend your time.
